4. Mrs. Suriyakala (Faculty of Medicine)
5. Dr. Kathiresan (AIMST University)
Summary of Proposal:
Current developments on Solid Lipid Nano particles (SLN) have gained special attention on cancer chemotherapy. In this research, papain is proposed as a novel adjuvant therapy for the treatment of colorectal cancer. Papain is aproteolytic enzyme extracted from Carica papaya, degrades the protective fibrin layer of cancer cells. The main aim of this proposal is to target the papain loaded SLN delivery system to specifically colorectal cancer cells where they will exert the EPR effect and cleaving the fibrin layer that protect by the cancer cells.
